Are my images uploaded to Oleva servers?
No. Your images are processed directly in your browser and never leave your device.

No. Your images are processed directly in your browser and are never uploaded to our server.
Can I compare the compressed image with the original?
Yes. After an image has been compressed, use Compare to inspect the original and compressed versions side by side.
Can I compress multiple images at once?
Yes. You can add multiple supported images and Oleva will process them through a compression queue.
Can I convert multiple images at once?
Yes. You can add multiple images and convert them together, then download each file individually or download all converted images as a ZIP file.
Does Compress Image change the image format?
No. JPG remains JPG, PNG remains PNG, and WebP remains WebP. Use Convert Image if you want to change formats.
Does compression change the image dimensions?
No. Compress Image keeps the original width and height. It only optimizes the file size.
Does converting an image change its dimensions?
No. Convert Image keeps the original image dimensions. It only changes the image format.
Does image compression reduce quality?
It can. JPG and WebP compression may reduce some image quality depending on the selected quality level. The Balanced preset is designed to reduce file size while keeping visual differences minimal.
Is Convert Image free to use?
Yes. Convert Image can be used without creating an account or signing in.
Is image metadata preserved?
Compression may remove unnecessary metadata during browser-based processing. If you need detailed metadata management, use the dedicated metadata tool when available.
Is there a file or image limit?
You can process up to 20 images at a time, with a maximum size of 25 MB per image.
What happens to transparent areas when converting to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency. Transparent areas are filled with a white background when converting to JPG.
What image formats can I convert?
You can convert JPG, PNG, and WebP images between any of these supported formats.
What is the difference between the compression presets?
Smaller File prioritizes reducing file size, Balanced provides a good balance between size and image quality, and Higher Quality uses gentler compression to preserve more visual detail.
