Private by design
Your images stay with you.
Compression happens locally in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to Dran Works, so private photos and client assets stay on your device.
Compress your imagesReduce image file size while keeping the original format
Compress JPG and WebP photos
Use Balanced as a starting point, then compare the result with the original. Smaller File prioritizes size; Higher Quality keeps more visual detail. Re-encoding can change pixels, so inspect faces, text and fine edges before downloading.
Compress PNG graphics
PNG output stays PNG. The compressor tries lossless optimization and, when your visual detail settings allow it, fewer-color versions for additional savings. Palette reduction can change colors and gradients; not every PNG compression result is lossless.
Resize and remove metadata
Optionally reduce large image dimensions while preserving aspect ratio. Smaller images are not enlarged. Enable Remove camera/location info to strip private metadata while keeping the image facing the right way; when disabled, compatible metadata is preserved where possible.
Understand the size result
Savings depend on the source image and settings. Without resizing, an output that is not smaller is replaced with the original and marked Already optimized. There is no exact 100 KB or 200 KB target-size setting and no guaranteed reduction percentage.
Process up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images per batch, up to 25 MB each and 50 megapixels per image. Animated PNG keeps its animation with lossless optimization; resize and color reduction are skipped. Animated WebP is not supported. Download individual files or a ZIP. The tool is free and does not require an account. Image contents and filenames are not uploaded; lightweight usage metadata records processing results.

Good to know
Common questions.
Can I compare the compressed image with the original?
Yes. After an image has been compressed, use Compare to inspect the original and compressed versions side by side.
Can I compress multiple images at once?
Yes. You can add multiple supported images and Dran will process them through a compression queue.
Does Compress Image change the image format?
No. JPG remains JPG, PNG remains PNG, and WebP remains WebP. Use Convert Image if you want to change formats.
Does compression change the image dimensions?
No. Compress Image keeps the original width and height. It only optimizes the file size.
Does image compression reduce quality?
It can. JPG and WebP compression may reduce some image quality depending on the selected quality level. The Balanced preset is designed to reduce file size while keeping visual differences minimal.
Is image metadata preserved?
Compression may remove unnecessary metadata during browser-based processing. If you need detailed metadata management, use the dedicated metadata tool when available.
