Requirements

Before installing Dran Admin Cleaner (DAC), make sure your WordPress environment meets the following requirements.

System Requirements

Dran Admin Cleaner requires:

  • WordPress: 6.0 or later
  • PHP: 8.0 or later
  • Browser: A modern web browser with JavaScript enabled
  • User access: A WordPress Administrator account for installation and initial configuration

For the best compatibility, performance, and security, we recommend using currently supported versions of WordPress and PHP whenever possible.

WordPress Compatibility

DAC is designed to work with standard WordPress admin screens and uses WordPress APIs and hooks without modifying WordPress core files.

The plugin has been tested with multiple WordPress versions, including:

  • WordPress 6.0.x
  • WordPress 6.9.x
  • WordPress 7.0

We recommend keeping both WordPress and Dran Admin Cleaner up to date to receive the latest compatibility improvements and fixes.

PHP Compatibility

Dran Admin Cleaner requires PHP 8.0 or later.

If you are unsure which PHP version your website is using, you can check it from:

WordPress Admin → Tools → Site Health → Info → Server

If your website is running an older PHP version, contact your hosting provider or server administrator before installing DAC.

Browser Requirements

DAC uses JavaScript for parts of its administration interface.

We recommend using a current version of a modern browser, such as:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

JavaScript must be enabled for the DAC administration interface to work correctly.

Permissions

Install and initially configure DAC using a WordPress Administrator account.

Some DAC features can change what selected users or roles see and which admin pages they can access.

Before applying restrictions to other administrators, review the Safety & Recovery documentation and make sure you understand the available recovery options.

WordPress Multisite

Dran Admin Cleaner does not currently support WordPress Multisite.

DAC should be installed and used on standard single-site WordPress installations.

Multisite support may be considered in a future release.

Before You Install

Before installing or configuring DAC on an existing website, we recommend:

  1. Create a recent backup of your website.
  2. Confirm that you have access to a WordPress Administrator account.
  3. Make sure your WordPress and PHP versions meet the requirements above.
  4. Keep access to your hosting control panel or server available when making significant admin-access changes.
